At the recent 'Spring into Action' sales conference, aussiehome.com introduced leading agent Mat Steinwede who spoke of his tough times and inspirational road to success.
One of his slides may have passed many by during the talk, which in itself tells a story (as what it contained was not that surprising). Being supremely well organised and diligent, Mat tracks all his leads: 1st - 38% come from the Internet 2nd - 30% are from newspapers 3rd - 21% from his database Hold the front page! - the Internet leads everything, and that did not surprise anyone nor was it dwelt on. In such a short time, this world wide web has swept all before it. An amazing phenomenon. One wonders - does Mat (and others) spend 40% of their marketing budget on the Internet - it is after all where he gets 40% of the action? Do you spend less on advertising in newspapers than the Net? (Errr... yeah right.) Well, it's happened in job ads, car ads and now real estate classifieds. And as the old military strategy says 'Put your resources where you have most success." Long live the Internet revolution. Redistribute the power of the media back into your own hands (your own web site, and the portals you are also on.) |
