SEO Works
There are now 6 billion web sites out there (this has doubled in the past 2 years), and most of them are pretty poor - but not all. How do you get yourself noticed? One way is to rank high on the main search engines, such as Google.

Example: enter "property for sale applecross" into www.google.com and look who comes up on the first page of results (showing top 7 web sites found): Acton, aussiehome.com, Ross & Galloway and Albrecht Fear.

All 4 of these sites have had the full aussiehome.com 'search engine optimisation' (SEO) treatment. Out of 9,390 web sites with the text "property for sale Applecross" on them somewhere, the world's most visited search engine found these 4 and placed them on its first page of results.

Try another suburb: "Property for sale in... Nedlands / Claremont / Ballajura / Cowaramup / Port Melbourne... " in fact any suburb/town with properties on aussiehome.com and you get similar results.

Over half the country on the web
Recent stats on Australian internet web use reveals:

  • 10.05 million Australians use the internet
  • More than half use it everyday
  • 50% of Australians now have broadband (high speed) access to the Web
  • Real Estate search is the 5th largest category of internet use (1: publishing, 2: search, 3: cars, 4: jobs)
  • Online advertising jumped 64% last year

(Source: AC Nielsen Net Ratings, Feb 2005)

aussiehome traffic continues to grow, with over 8 million web pages served up in April (a new record).

Bill Gates' famous prediction (made in early 1980s, to universal derision) that "every desk and home would have a PC" seems to have come true. And in 10 years since the first web sites appeared, the internet has become essential for news information and jobs, cars and property search.

  • Enter the 70,000th and win!
It's coming around again - another 10,000 moment.

As we are nearing the 70,000th property on aussiehome.com (the 60,000th was entered in November '04), we are again offering the person who enters the property with '70000' a celebratory hamper delivered to your office.

Good luck entering those properties - we are almost up to 68,000 so we are expecting this to happen this month...

    Careful with that content Eugene
The Internet is full of information, easily obtainable. However, not all of it is necessarily available for you to use - just like any other media source - unless you have permission.

For example, please do not assume that photos taken from another web site are permissable for your own properties.

We take internet rights seriously - hence our battle with a recent web site that was scraping our clients sites. We are happy to report that, after sustained pressure from aussiehome.com, lawyers and our clients, the site in question has been taken down.

In this exciting new medium of the Internet, people's rights still need protecting.

    property ID:
Win a Hamper by entering the 70,000th property on aussiehome.com!

No need to 'email us your answer', we are up to ID 68000, so the winner will come soon! It could be you.
