April Fool!
Today is "April Fool's" day, the first of April, the day you must decide whether you are a lion or a mouse.

The brave amongst us would've leapt out of bed this morning in gleeful anticipation of the side splitting fun to be had at other people's expense while the timorous will still be looking over their shoulder while reading this.

"April Fools" are said to have originated sometime after 1582, when New Year's Day was changed from April 1st (the beginning of spring) to January 1st on the introduction of the Gregorian Calendar.

Of course the message took years to spread in those days. Those who knew of the change ridiculed those who still celebrated New Year on April 1st. Considered even more foolish were those obstinate fools who persisted with the April 1st celebratory date not believing in the message of the official change!

Maybe Mark Twain best summed up a fool, "Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us would not succeed." Present company excepted, of course.
